Schools & Clubs
We offer a range of services, including the identification of objects, to visitors and to schools, clubs and other organisations.

Teachers
Our speakers have wide experience of talking to school groups. You can come to us, or we will come to you and bring with us objects for pupils to handle. At all Key Stages we can help bring a topic alive by giving it a local slant: Romans, Tudors, Victorians, World War 2, Transport, Floods, Settlements – we have knowledge and material relating to all of these. Give us notice of what topics you are covering, tell us what you need and we will do everything we can do to help.

Pupils
Need help with a project? At Maidenhead Heritage Centre we can suggest the best sources of information. We have free local leaflets with maps and photographs and lots of local information. We have loads of reference books for you to use and space for you to work.

A mine of information
Our reference library contains scores of books about Maidenhead, many of them rare or out of print. Visitors also love browsing through our albums of old photographs – and often bring in their own photos for us to copy and add to our collection. We also have a number of videos about the local area, including White Waltham airfield and the River Thames.

Need a speaker for your club?
Our team of experienced and enthusiastic speakers are in great demand. They regularly give talks about Maidenhead’s heritage and a wide range of local subjects. Click here for more information about talks available from Maidenhead Heritage Centre. Why not bring your group for a tailor-made private visit to the Heritage Centre? By arrangement you can come in the day or the evening.
